Today marks a very special day in the Snövind pack — Oden and Angel turn 3 years old! It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming these two bundles of fluff into the family, and now they've grown into some of the strongest, most beautiful Alaskan Malamutes you'll ever meet.
The Journey So Far
When Oden and Angel arrived as puppies in early 2023, they were full of the same energy that defines them today — just packed into much smaller bodies. Oden was already showing signs of the determined, focused dog he'd become. He'd march around the kennel yard with a seriousness that made us laugh, his oversized paws padding across the snow like he already knew he was destined for great things.
Angel, true to her name, was the sweetest puppy from the very start. Where Oden was intense, Angel was pure joy. She'd greet every person, every dog, with a wagging tail and a face that could melt even the coldest Swedish winter morning.
Growing Into Team 2
By their first autumn, both dogs were already showing the traits that would define their team dynamic. We started them on short ATV runs alongside the older dogs, and it quickly became clear that these two were made to run together.

Oden's transformation from a playful youngster to a powerful, confident runner has been incredible to witness. His pulling strength rivals dogs twice his experience, and his focus on the trail is absolute. When he locks in, he's a machine — steady rhythm, head down, driving forward through whatever the Swedish forest throws at him.
Angel has grown into the heart of the team. Her joyful energy is infectious — she makes every run feel like an adventure, not a workout. She keeps Oden balanced, brings out his playful side when they're resting between runs, and reminds all of us why we do this in the first place.
Birthday Celebrations
Today we celebrated with their favourite things: extra treats, a special running session (just the two of them, their own birthday run), and plenty of time together in the snow. We even got them matching birthday bandanas — Oden wore his with the dignity of a king, while Angel managed to get hers covered in snow within approximately 30 seconds.
