A Ride, a Fix, and a Firewood Stack: Life at Snovind

Today was one of those perfectly mixed countryside days — where time with friends, machines, dogs, and a bit of manual work all fall into rhythm.

Mixing Two Wheels with Four Paws

I spent the early part of the day riding out with Robert to Osterbybruks Herrgard, a beautiful old estate with charming gardens and peaceful surroundings. I took the VN1600, and Robert rode his own bike — of course, I snapped a few photos of both the bikes and the stunning garden for memory's sake.

Back home, it was straight into winter-prep mode — stacking firewood into the basement for the burner. It's hard, satisfying work, and absolutely essential for living out here in the countryside with a kennel to run and dogs to keep warm when the snow returns.

I moved the Aprilia RST into the garage today too. Unfortunately, it took a small spill and needs a new mirror — another thing to add to the to-do list. The Goldwing is booked in for its road safety check this coming Monday, and naturally, the battery was flat... so it's now charging in the garage.

Evening Chores

Evening chores followed — feeding the dogs and letting Angel, Thor, and little Pella roam free outside the kennel runs tonight. Thor looked majestic in the twilight, and Luna is still house-bound for another week while she finishes healing. I managed to grab a lovely shot of her too — alert as ever.

"Running a kennel is more than just caring for the dogs — it's also keeping the entire system running, from bikes to firewood to planning for winter."
